2017 CONNECTED BLOG HIGHLIGHTS

It’s been a huge year for IoT. Headlines have been focused on the expected future growth of the Internet of Things as Gartner’s predictions for the technology sector included the likelihood that connected devices will reach over 20 billion in number in the next two years. Tech giants like Microsoft have made the front page as Bill Gates makes plans for his Smart City and Amazon and Google battle it out in the Smart Home AI Personal Assistant race.

In the industrial and business worlds, our partners have been making headlines all year round too. From award-winning connected transport solutions with Icomera to Smart City strategies with Iotic Labs to global Retail solutions with Fujitsu, 2017 has been a year of exciting collaboration and strong partnership. The maturity in this space was particularly evident at IoT Solutions World Congress where we presented partner solutions for building automation alongside alliance partners Intel and giants like Bosch, Honeywell and Google Cloud.

Just this month, we announced that Brighter AB had selected the Arkessa eUICC solutions to support the global market launch of Actiste in partnership with Ercisson and Gemalto. Actiste is a mobile health solution to simply insulin-treated diabetes by gathering and sharing personal health data between patient and healthcare professionals through a connected pocket-sized device.

McKinsey indicated earlier this year that as more Enterprises discover the benefits of secure, scalable, simple-to-deploy enterprise IoT, growth is likely to make yet a further sharp upturn. So far, this prediction is ringing true across many sectors. As trust and confidence in Enterprise IoT grows, we have seen significant breakthroughs  and trends emerging in the following sectors over the last 12 months:

Mobility as a Service autonomous driverless cars

Automotive

Manufacturing

Logistics

As Enterprise IoT moves beyond the proof-of-concept phase, our global partnerships with international System Integrators and Technology Providers are proving to be both vital and highly productive.

Arkessa was recognised in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Managed M2M Services 2017 Report for the fourth year running. The Magic Quadrant report highlighted Arkessa’s strength and differentiation in go-to-market, service delivery and in the emerging eUICC (eSIM) opportunity. We were delighted on behalf of our team, our customers, and our partners for the recognition.

That customer and partner network is testament that enterprises can flourish under service-oriented business models, and we look forward to continuing to help them lead the way in IoT and connectivity over the next 12 months and beyond.
