ARKESSA WORLD TOUR: MWC17

It’s been a busy first quarter of 2017 for Arkessa – read on for a round-up of all the events and news so far:

Mobile World Congress, Barcelona #MWC17

This year’s Mobile World Congress was abuzz with news from the automotive industry, where strong links are being forged between traditional car manufacturers and their technology counterparts. Partnerships such as BMW and Intel were showcasing connected mobility and the latest developments in autonomous vehicles. According to a recent study by KPMG, 85% of car manufacturers believe that ultimately they will make more money through the provision of digital services to car owners than through sales of actual cars.

Mobility as a Service autonomous driverless cars

Embedded World, Nuremberg #EW17

Arkessa and Avnet Silica partnered at Embedded World in Nuremberg to demonstrate live over-the-air (OTA) SIM profile switching based on eSIM and eUICC technologies. Read more about how eSIM and eUICC can optimise IoT deployments at www.arkessa.com/euicc.

Safety and security were the buzzwords at this year’s event, and we joined the debate on how to keep embedded systems safe and secure via trusted IoT connectivity. Our new whitepaper highlights 5 ways (+1) Arkessa helps underpin IoT Security.

Smart IoT, London #SmartIoT17

At Smart IoT in London, Arkessa teamed up with our partners from Beckhoff and Interior Automation to present ‘BMS in a box’ – all about making facilities and building management systems easy to procure and deploy.

Arkessa’s own Iain Davidson took to the floor to present his thoughts on the ways in which business models should be shaping technology choices. You’ll soon be able to watch his talk here.

The presentations sparked lots of discussion around Everything as a Service (XaaS) and it was inspiring to meet so many visitors to our stand who were interested in hearing about the latest developments in insurance tech and facilities management solutions.

IBM Interconnect, Las Vegas #IBMInterconnect

At IBM Interconnect, the focus was back on buildings, and Arkessa were proud to team up with Interior Automation and Beckhoff once again to present a live showcasing of their lighting automation solution which is being deployed at IBM’s IoT Centre in Munich. Arkessa 4G connectivity is used to connect buildings to IBM Watson and to IBM Maximo.

Arkessa in the news

And finally, we were pleased to feature in Smart Industry magazine published by Avnet-Silica. They included a feature written by our CTOO John Freeman, on embedded SIM (eSIM) technology and what it means for the future of IoT connectivity control. You can read the article here.
