Managed 3G wireless CCTV connections are currently in use throughout the UK supported by Arkessa. They make use of the highly specialised and secure IP services designed specifically to meet the very particular demands of the security industry; and of course it works just as well in fixed and mobile situations.
“This is a valuable service providing freedom to locate CCTV almost anywhere and without the delay of getting cables installed,” says Paul Green of Arkessa. “We’ve now increased capacity even further and enhanced the service through our partnership with KDDI Telehouse, the largest and most robust managed IP centre in the UK”.
The Arkessa Data Centre (the “Ark”) provides ubiquitous coverage using multiple international mobile network operators along with sophisticated management services to deliver secure private connections anywhere in Europe. The “Ark” also provides a highly secure home for all data and information management systems and a secure and resilient platform for mission critical IT systems.
Arkessa currently manages IP 3G connections for CCTV monitoring of: highways, railways, construction sites, environmentally sensitive locations and passenger safety on public transport. Halam Rose, Technical Manager for Arkessa said, “We have also helped our customers set up 3G and GPRS connections to complement conventional wired systems used for access control and back up for fire alarms and ADSL lines to remote retail sites!”
Key features :
Currently a number of organisation make use of the secure fixed IP service provided by Arkessa to set up and remotely manage access to sites with long boundaries, parks and buildings. This enables access to be granted for single use or a table of users to be updated and controlled preventing access after someone has moved to new premises.
Arkessa rapid deployment 3G connections are used by a number of customers to provide security to construction sites before any fixed infrastructure is available
Safety and security are big issues for many organisations, but they are especially pressing if there are lots of remote assets that can present hazards to the unwary or have the potential for personal danger. Arkessa security services and specifically designed to meet these needs with coverage to reach those remote locations as well as the dense urban environment.
Typical solutions include:
Although many public transport vehicles have CCTV installed, few have the ability to deliver live information to the control room in the event of a critical incident. Arkessa has enabled this service for operators using several different mobile networks in order to ensure that capacity is available at the crucial moment.
