The Ark

At the heart of the Arkessa service is the Ark. It enables the remote internet and is truly scalable.

On one side are multitudes of remote devices that connect simultaneously via many different mobile, satellite and fixed networks to the Ark. High capacity interconnections are managed to multiple international mobile network operators. Many networks are needed to provide the necessary coverage and high capacity interconnections are essential to support large numbers of devices and handle the demands of CCTV and other 3G applications.

On the other side are our customers’ networks, databases and back office systems which are connected via a secure virtual private network (VPN) directly to the Ark. Systems within the Ark make ensure that data communicated from the remote device rapidly reach the right destination.

Management systems assign secure private IP addresses to each remote device associated with your business to ensure that you, and only you, can connect to your remote assets securely and consistently. If you need multiple users to access the remote equipment we can assign a public IP address but please be aware of the security implications for your assets.

Voice, text message and circuit-switched data (CSD) traffic is managed through the Ark to deliver seamless integration of services and connectivity. Multipoint Peer to Peer communications may be applied to groups of remote devices

The Ark provides a web-based management platform available to all users who wish to make use of the services it offers which include:

// A “tool kit” that provides traffic information and statistics plus the ability to test each connection
// Continuous real-time monitoring of data traffic enables the Ark to limit throughput for any connection (data cap) so providing an early alert of potential faults and preventing excessive bills

// Management of “starter packs” for new users

Web Portals and Data Host

Arkessa in partnership with KDDI Telehouse provides a highly secure, robust centre for handling large scale data storage and processing coupled with enormous capacity for internet access to web based data. The Ark therefore becomes the ideal environment for remote data management coupled with web interfaces to represent remote information and facilitate management of remote facilities and devices. These dedicated information “portals” are increasingly becoming the means by which corporate organisations are providing remote services to their customers and have enabled many new services to be offered by companies that previously only provided products.
