Industries : Environment

While many organisations face the challenge of how to monitor the environment, others are exploiting commercial opportunities it presents. Services are being developed that contribute to our understanding of the environment. Others help with our management of it. help to improve our understanding and management of it, or finding ways of reducing the impact that we have on the planet.

Monitoring the environment

Arkessa’s global infrastructure enables sensors to be placed at remote sites that might be difficult to get to, beyond road access, or in areas where the installation of fixed equipment is neither practical nor permitted.

The sensing wirelessly and collecting of data centrally means that the need to make journeys to remote sites is reduced dramatically.

Working with Arkessa, many sensors can be deployed rapidly in the field and then connected to your own systems within minutes.  The benefits are clear: information received in real-time, without a need to travel.

Alternative energy generation

Wind and solar energy are popular forms of electricity generation.  However, a problem with both types of device is that they’re often in remote places, or difficult to access due, perhaps, to being on a roof or high-up.

Arkessa’s remote connectivity enables equipment of this sort to be managed and controlled remotely, wherever it is.  We make it possible to see that equipment is performing correctly, whether maintenance is required, or if a fault is evident. The equipment can be reconfigured, tuned, controlled or switched on and off. And some maintenance, including software updates can be executed remotely.

Environmentally friendly business

The most immediate way of reducing your environmental impact is to not travel as much. Remote sensing makes this possible. And while the only way of checking on the devices and systems that you have in the field was to travel to them in person, you can now collect the data remotely.
